Farmers, ranchers, and grazers across Virginia shared their stories and grazing practices with the Soil for Water project team. They shared their perspectives and practices around regenerative grazing, as well as their work to build soil health, how they care for animals and livestock, what their values are around climate resilience, pollinator habitats, and plant diversity. The Soil for Water project helps paint a holistic picture on the values and principles the producers follow in caring for the land and practicing regenerative grazing.
Eric Bendfeldt, Kim Niewolny, and Katie Trozzo from Virginia Tech and Virginia Cooperative Extension; Lee Rinehart and Mike Morris of the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT); and Ernie Didot of Clear Impact Productions led the Soil for Water project, funded through the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program and coordinated in collaboration with the NCAT.
